He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Esker and Mary "Millie" Esker (Schniederjan); his grandson Lucas John Schuette; and his sisters, Barbara Burford and Dorothy Buening.
He is survived by: his wife Pam LeBel of Teutopolis; his children, Todd (Katie) of Mahomet, Christine Schuette (Nick) of Effingham, Beth Lewis (Shawn) of Teutopolis and Ted (Adri) of Colorado Springs; his grandchildren, Sydney, Ethan Esker, Madie Smith, Max Schuette, Kylie, Chloe and William Lewis; his siblings, Carolyn Carmichael, Howard Esker (Connie), Richard Esker (Jeanette), JoEllen Bretz (Mick), Paul Esker (Emma), Cindy Murdock, Tony Esker (Janet) and Fred Esker (Kathy); and his brothers-in-law, Gerald "Smokie" Burford and George Buening.
Memorial donations may be given to the Teutopolis American Legion Post 924 Veteran Memorial maintenance or the St. Anthony's Pups Club in memory of Lucas John Schuette.
