With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leroy C. Wernsing of Teutopolis, Illinois, born in Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Wernsing and Lillian Wernsing; his former wife Barbara Ann Gertrude Kinkelaar; his daughter Kimberly; and his sister Elvira Will.
He is survived by: his wife Liz Maculevics Dalton of Teutopolis; his children, Keith, Kenny, Kurt (Amy), Karl, Kevin (Dana), Kris (Amanda) of Teutopolis and Kathy Verdeyen (Richard) of Effingham; his stepdaughters, Dana Bertetto of Hillsboro and Andrea Strauch (Darrin) of St. Elmo; his grandchildren, Zachery, Jonathan Verdeyen, Ana, Leo Wernsing, Lauren, Briana, Ivan Wernsing, Lilli, Ava, Gage Wernsing, Baylee Bertetto, Hunter and Josie Strauch; and his sisters, Norma Berberich of Mt. Carmel and Betty Schaufler of Teutopolis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Ataxia Foundation or the American Legion.
