With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald M. Borries of Teutopolis, Illinois, who passed away on December 25, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Gerald departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Gerald. Though Gerald may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. "Specs" Borries and Harriet C. "Sis" Borries (Pruemer). He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughter Lisa Hutson (Josh); his grandchildren, Remington and Isabella; his brothers, Thomas of Teutopolis and Leonard of Teutopolis; and his cousin Tanner Pruemer.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home (1212 W Evergreen Ave, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (203 E Main St, Teutopolis, IL 62467).
Memorial donations may be given to the Family Life Center.
