It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eleanor C. Gebben of Teutopolis, Illinois, who passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, August Deters and Frances Deters (Pals); her husband Eugene B. "Gene" Gebben; her siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Deters, Jim Deters (Louise) and Joe Deters (Mary Lou); and her daughter-in-law Diane Wente Gebben.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Morgan (Mark), Carl (Cheryl), Christopher, Mark (Cindy), Mike (Lynette), Patrick (Julie), Paul (Tammy) and Stanley; her sisters, Irene Probst (Jerome) and Rita Thoele (Tom); and her in-laws, Viola Gebben Green, Sylvia Gebben Hartke, Sue Gebben and Andy Gebben (Pat). She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 3:45 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (203 E Main St, Teutopolis, IL 62467). Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Catholic Charities or the charity of the donor's choice.
