He was predeceased by: his parents, William Watkins and Marcella Watkins; and his grandparents, Henry, Lettie Willis, Elmer and Frances Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia Watkins; his children, Sarah Vercilotti (Jay) of Chandler, IN, Susi Lopez (Brett) of San Antonio, TX, Laura Calvert of Nokomis, Scott Watkins of Springfield, Robert Watkins of Bamburg, Germany, Erick Watkins of Bamburg, Germany and Brian Calvert of Shelbyville; and his siblings, David Watkins (Connie) of New Berlin, Sandy Barton (Ray) of Springfield, Becky Raps (Rod) of Kansas City, MO and Beth Withers (Bob) of Cantrall. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
