He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Hughes and Leah Fern Hughes (Rhodes); and his brother Walter Gerald Hughes. He is survived by: his children, Rickie E. Hughes (Susan) of Taylorville, Kevin L. Hughes (Faye) of Taylorville, Ronnie L. Hughes (Janet) of Quinlan, TX and Laurie Compton (Gene) of Mattoon; and his brothers, Herman Edward Hughes (Doris) of Taylorville and Marvin L. Hughes (Judy) of Mt. Zion. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
