It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Kate Fraley in Taylorville, Illinois, born in Dewitt, Illinois, who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Earl Thomas Brandon of Clinton; her son-in-law Rafael Soto; her niece Joan Diaz; and her nephew Galen Reeder. She is survived by: her husband Vance Fraley of Taylorville; her children, Karen Brandon (Christopher Woodruff) of Oxford, England, Lenee Soto of Lake Zurich, Ill. and Derek Fraley (Melissa Fraley) of Edwards, Ill.; her grandchildren, Lena Kolvik (Jonas Kolvik) of Gothenburg, Sweden, Jackson Woodruff, Avery Woodruff of Edinburgh, Scotland, Samuel Soto, Nic Soto of Lake Zurich, Ill., Madelyn Fraley, Landon Fraley of Edwards, Ill, Julia Kolvik of Gothenburg and Linnea Kolvik of Stockholm, Sweden; and her cousin Dorothy Addison (Ken Addison) of Paris, Kentucky. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; many grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Taylorville Public Schools Foundation, with funds directed to the new fine arts center. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Mary Kate "Katie" Fraley's name.
