He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Scott and Ruth Scott (Cochran); and his brothers, Wayne Scott, Leonard Scott, Larry Scott, Jerry Scott, Bobby Scott and Vernon Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Juanita Sinnard of Taylorville, IL; his daughters, Margie Phelps (Richard) of Taylorville, IL, Linda Roemer (Gerry Ess) of Taylorville, IL, Betty Ellinger (Kyle) of Taylorville, IL, Julie McGrath (Nate) of Taylorville, IL and Anita Scott (Jeremy) of Taylorville, IL; his grandchildren, John, Madison, Kaitlyn, Kaylene, Logan, Kirsten, Maeghanne, Brittany, Seymone, Jack, Ian, Henry, Trevor and Kolby; his great grandchildren, Arabella, Blaze, Zaydin, Berkley, Mason, Aiden, Grady, Asher and Sebastion; and his siblings, James Scott of Kentucky, Lonnie Scott (Maggie) of Langleyville, IL, Shirley Olsen of Taylorville, IL, Eva Albright (Carl) of Taylorville, IL and Mary Alsup of Taylorville, IL..
