Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Eugene Donaldson Jr. of Taylorville, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 81, on January 23, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth Donaldson, Sr. (Unser); his wife Sandra; his sons, Scott and Steve Donaldson; his brother Kenneth; and his brother-in-law Charles Ferrill.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Zlaty (Don) of Connersville, IN, Sarah Vice (Mike) of Kincaid, IL and Greg Donaldson (Barbara) of Taylorville; his grandchildren, Zach Donaldson (Tori), Ryan Donaldson, Taylor Donaldson, Kaysi Vice (Aaron Robertson), Lucas Vice (Olivia), Alyie Davis (Mike), Kaytlynn Donaldson, Kay Adams (Elwood), Krista Ostermeier (Ted), Zackary Wicker and Zaydyn Donaldson; and his sisters, Pat Ferrill and Linda Neideen (Ken). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home (202 W Franklin St, Taylorville, IL 62568). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (820 S Cherokee St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian County Animal Control.
