It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Eugene Blakeman of Taylorville, Illinois, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Blakeman and Mabel Blakeman (Moomey); his wife Mary Agnes DeMichael; and his daughter Margaret. He is survived by: his children, John F. Blakeman (Shannon) of Taylorville, Joseph Blakeman of Springfield, Michael Blakeman (Denise) of Taylorville, Daniel Blakeman of Stonington, Thomas Blakeman of Stonington and Mary "Missy" Wemhoener (Todd) of Belleville; his grandchildren, Lauren Blakeman, John R. Blakeman, Katie Wemhoener, Dustin Blome, Aaron Blome and Ashley Kochniarczyk; and his sister Marilyn Wattelet. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the Stonington American Legion or the Stonington Fire Department.
