He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lewis and Thelma Catherine Rhymes (Amos); his siblings, Judy Sporrer and Bobby Rhymes; and his son-in-law Tom Jarvis.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Rhymes of Taylorville; his children, Deborah Jarvis of Springfield, Gary Rhymes (Pam Tennant) of Taylorville, Anita Hunt (Tom) of Taylorville and Denise Rhymes (Thatcher Allen) of Taylorville; his grandchildren, Aron Rhymes (Lexi Melton), Katelyn Hunt (Karson Bandy), Garrett Hunt (Jodie), Mitchell Rhymes (Grace) and Marissa; his great grandchildren, Henry Rhymes, Edison Rhymes, Nevaeh and Legna; and his sister Sharon Cagle of Springfield. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the McClure Funeral Home (302 W Poplar St, Taylorville, IL 62568). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (116 W Adams St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or St. Rita Catholic Church.
