He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Jr. Powell and Lorraine Powell (Brunson); and his brothers, Rick and Sherman Powell. He is survived by: his wife Donna Holgate; his children, Michael Powell (Holly), Paula Verschoore (Jeff) and Shawn Powell; his grandchildren, John Powell (Hannah), Jacob Powell (Brianna), Katrina O'Neall (Jacob), Cassi Vroman, Carli Vroman, Justin Verschoore (Alena), Callie Verschoore and Cade Verschoore; his great grandchild Koe Verschoore; his pet Madi; and his siblings, Louis Powell, Marge Oakland (Gary), Dianna Martin, Joette Heymann and Deb Bowen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
