He was predeceased by: his father Craig Dewald. He is survived by: his wife Julie of Tampico; his sons, Tyler Dewald (Kayla) of Sterling and Logan Dewald of Tampico; his mother Barbara Dewald of Rock Falls; his granddaughter Hadley Kay Dewald of Sterling; and his sisters, Catheryn Dewald of Rock Falls and Kimberly Cady (Mike) of Tampico.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
