He was predeceased by: his niece Kendra C. Broadway; his grandparents, Dean, Ruth Zettler, Lyle, Lola Heape, Donald Heape and Phyllis Woodside; and his uncle Chuck Skurat.

He is survived by: his parents, Phillip W. Heape (Diann) of Benton and Carlene F. Heape (Zettler) of Du Quoin; his fiancée Kristi Boling of Tamaroa; his children, Alexis Heape of Pinckneyville and Cameran Heape of Tamaroa; his brother Nathan W. Heape (Sue Ann Heape) of Du Quoin; and his aunts and uncles, Linda (Elbert Osterhout), Larry (Sue Zettler), Glena Skurat of Sesser, Rodney (Carolyn Zettler), Douglas (Judy Heape), Donna (Jesse James) and Angie (Duke Wright).
