He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Elbert and Mary Elizabeth Ellison (Reeder); his wife Patricia L. George; and his siblings, Pearl Storey Herrera, Joan Woods Robinson, Stella Ellison and Tom Ellison.

He is survived by: his sons, Larry Ellison (Christine) of Waltonville, Joe Ellison of Belleville, IL and Bobby Ellison (Vicki) of Marion, IL; his grandchildren, Tyler Klamm (Kaylyn) of Du Bois, Tayler Ellison (Victoria) of Evansville, IN, Trey Ellison of Evansville, IN, Nicholas Ellison of Belleville, Ashlynn Ellison of Potosi, MO, Jeremiah Ellison of Marion, Michael Ellison of Marion and Matthew Ellison of Marion; and his sister Nancy Keller (Ron) of Somerville. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

Friends may make memorials to Oza Cancer Center or Bone Marrow Transplant Center Saint Louis University and will be accepted at the funeral home.
