He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Earl and Flo Lee Shoemaker (Taylor); and his siblings, Ruth Huffstutler, Earline House and Cloyd Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Hottes; his children, Brenda Benton (Don) and James A. Shoemaker (Lisa); his grandchildren, Justin Shoemaker (Deana), Brandon Shoemaker, Donovan Benton (Esther) and Niklas Shoemaker (Ceirra Moxley); his great grandchildren, Logan Shoemaker, Jack Shoemaker, Walter Benton, Megan Klotz (Travis), Jamie Redman, Sydney Redman (Hunter Gammon), Carly Arnoldy and Eryn Starr; and his great great grandchildren, Elsie Klotz, Hadley Klotz, Reis Carter and Ledger Simonton.
