He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Welch and Betty Ann Welch (Wild); and his brother Kevin Dale Welch. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Hill; his daughters, Ellie Butcher (Jess) of Sparland, IL and Erin Wagenbach (Keith) of Sparland, IL; his grandchildren, Krystal, Karter, Kendall and Kamryn; and his brother Charles Welch (Sharon) of Florida. He is also survived by one sister.

Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
