He was predeceased by: his parents, Earle Westlake and Dorothy Westlake (King); his son Russell Westlake; his siblings, Orville Westlake, Marge Mowers and Julie Dawson; his stepson Brian Bowman; and his stepgrandchildren, Kurt Hudson, Kassandra, Sarrah Fannon and Desirae Bowman.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Westlake (Barb), Merritt Westlake (Olga), Jennifer Jones (Allen), Stephanie Olson (Mark) and Angela Heatter (Dave); his stepchildren, Kim Wiemer and Brenda Jergens (Tom); and his brother Melvin Westlake. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sycamore Veterans Home in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
