He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ball Hughes and Amy Hughes (Barron); and his wife Susan "Susie" Johnson. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Jeffrey Johnson (Lynne) of Sycamore, Michael Johnson of Florida, Jennifer Towery (Terry) of Peoria and Christopher Johnson of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Kimberly Jenkins, Zeb Johnson (Tanya), Alexandra Farlinger (Kevin), Isabella Johnson, Blaine Towery, Zachary Towery, Brennan Towery, Erika Anderson, Melanie Johnson and Brian Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Silas, Sammy, Sariyah, Sage, Zoey, Arthur, Crash, Franklin and Zinnia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (830 N Annie Glidden Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb or Illinois Railway Museum in Union.
