He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gittleson and Lucille Gittleson; and his siblings, Bob and Marilyn. He is survived by: his wife Andrea L. Tranum; his sons, Mitchell Gittleson of Sycamore and Joseph Gittleson (Dianne) of Anthem, AZ; and his grandchildren, Geoffrey, Devyn Gittleson of Anthem, AZ., Malerie, Matthew and Maegan Gittleson of Sycamore.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (2011 S 4th St, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Opportunity House or Restoration of the Sycamore Fire Truck in memory of George Gittleson, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
