He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna May Frederick and Matheson; and his wife Wilma Kay Armstrong. He is survived by: his son Wesley Dean Frederick (Christy Ann) of Arthur; his stepsons, Steve Miller and Doug Miller; and his siblings, Jake Frederick (Shirley) of Mattoon, Beverly Bolsen of Mattoon and Pearl Hudson of Mattoon. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

“I am so truly sorry for your loss. Sam was an amazing guy. I work at the dialysis center he went to. He always had a smile on his face full of laughs and happiness. He loved his family so much and talked non stop about his grandbabies. He would tell me stories about growing up and his music days. He would bring us in stuff from the garden and sausage from the pigs. I will miss him so so much it is not going to be the same here without him. Again I am so very truly sorry for you loss”
