He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald L. Cohan, Sr. and Sandra McCain Cohan; and his sister Sherry Neathery. He is survived by: his wife Karen Reed; his children, Matt Elder (Fonda) of Sullivan, Connie Lane (Ronnie) of Sullivan, Mark Elder of Decatur, Alexis Corral (Joseph) of San Marcus, Texas and Kaitlyn Webb of San Marcus, Texas; his grandchildren, Josh Elder (Georgia) of Augusta, Georgia, Tyler Lane (Melissa) of Texarkana, Zach Lane (Jessica) of Sullivan, Dalton Lane of Sullivan, Lanie Elder of Herrick and Wyatt Elder of Mattoon; and his siblings, Mike Cohan (Julie) of Sullivan, Jeff Cohan (Sonya) of Arlington, Joe Cohan of Sullivan, Rick Cohan (Jodi) of Arthur, Jack Cohan (Jennifer) of Sullivan and Debra Johnson of Sullivan. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
