He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry M. Ray and Alberta May Harl Ray; his siblings, Mark Ray and Becky Emel; and his half-sister Matina Wiggins.
He is survived by: his friends, Bob Emel, Cheryl Coddington and Terry Lane; his wife Jane Funk of Sullivan; his children, Heath Ray of Sullivan, Jeremy Ray (Autumn) of Sullivan, Patricia Carter (Mike) of Charleston, Chad Vail (Brandi) of Champaign and Mark Vail (Sarah) of Mattoon; and his grandchildren, Grace Ray, Matthew Ray, Joe Carter, Abby Carter, Elexa Vail, McKinzie Ray, Logan Ray and Briannae Saunders.
The family kindly suggests masks and social distancing for the visitation and services.
