He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. Carnes and Hallie Carnes (Decker); his wife Joan Malloy; his son Dennis Carnes; and his siblings, Aubrey Carnes, Glen Carnes, Paul Carnes, John Carnes, Richard Carnes, Frances Nelson, Edna Seitz, Louise Colclasure and Hazel Jenne.
He is survived by: his children, Doug Carnes (Angela) of Sullivan and Cindy Guin (Bret) of Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Morgan Webster (Kenny), Mackinzey Price (Kyle), Miles McDevitt (Holly), Whitney Carnes (Zach), Ian McDevitt (Mallory), Cesciley Shonkwiler (Matt) and Jordan Walters (Joey). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
