We bid farewell to Anita C. Bruce of Sullivan, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 2, 2024 at the age of 82. Anita touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kermit J. "Short" Deckard and Eva M. Deckard (Lane); her husband Gary W. "Skip" Bruce; and her sister-in-law Kathy. She is survived by: her children, Steven Bruce (Cynthia) of Olney and Susan Voyles (Jeff) of Sullivan; her grandchildren, Steven Bruce, Jr., Logan Bruce (Rachel), Tracy Hileman (Chas) and Jessica Voyles; her brother Gary Deckard of Mt. Zion; and her close friend Darrell Lash. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sullivan First United Methodist Church (216 W Jefferson St, Sullivan, IL 61951). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Sullivan First United Methodist Church or to the Sullivan Senior Center.
