He was predeceased by: his parents, Winona "Tiny" Trailor-Berner and Albert R. Berner; his brother Roger Berner (Lynn) of Sullivan; his son Timmy Berner; and his father-in-law Richard Shellabarger.
He is survived by: his wife Samantha Shellabarger; his mother-in-law Joyce Shellabarger; his children, Benjamin Berner of Norman, OK, Patricia Coburn of Decatur, Michael Pitts of Sullivan, Johnny Berner of Lovington and Ryan Berner of Bethany; his stepdaughters, Chrissy Schumacher of Sullivan and Chastity Foster of Lovington; and his nephew Jason Berner of Schererville, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
