We bid farewell to Ruth M. Derby of Sugar Grove, Illinois, born in Oak Park, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 17, 2024 at the age of 92. Ruth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Ruth had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Ruth may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Sanderson and Genevieve Sanderson (Holmes); her close friend Floyd Derby; and her children, Jayne Thomas (David) of Georgia, Richard Derby of California, Thomas Derby (Jennifer) of North Carolina and William Derby (Jenny) of Texas. She was also cherished by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
