He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Torup-Hansen and Jørgen Lundsteen; and his brother Bjørn. He is survived by: his wife Jean Marie Socknat Lundsteen of Sioux City; his children, Natalie (Pat Byrne) of Dallas, TX, Brad (Katy) of Hampshire, IL, Anna (Jeff Tuohy) of North Aurora, IL and Cricket Janette Quast of Fort Worth, TX; his brother Niels; his nephews, Nikolaj and Jacob of Copenhagen; his grandchildren, Justin (Alexandra), Casey (Erycka), Jacob (Kaitlynn), Jeanine, Katrina, Alexander, Easton, Trenton, Izzie, Ally and Kirsten; and his great grandchild Brady.

Jan's Scouting colleagues have created a memorial fund page.
