She was predeceased by: her parents, John R. Briggs and Alma Mae Briggs (Beaumont); and her brother Ron Briggs (Karen). She is survived by: her husband Melvin "Smitty" Smith; her children, Mike Smith (Becky), Caren Olvera, Doug Smith (Kim), Cyndi Kochan (John) and Conni VanHorn; her grandchildren, DJ, Lynn, Sean, Travis, Megan, Jacob, Callie, Josephine, Anibal, Tanner and Katrina; and her siblings, Carol Key (Monty) and Larry Briggs (Carmen).
