He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Klein and Wanetta Patrick Klein; his wife Glennis Ketelsen; his children, Dolan Wayne Klein (Susanne) of Savoy, IL and Mary Klein Cook of Bloomington, IL; his stepson Jay Reed VanderSchel of Putnam, CT; his grandchildren, Sarah (Jessica Cook), Parker (Samantha Klein), Melinda and Jason (Julie VanderSchel); and his brother Richard Klein. He was also cherished by several great grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association.
