He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest "Woody" and Helen Pence (Sherman); his children, Jerri Lynn Smith and Tim Pence; his granddaughter-in-law Alicia Pence; and his siblings, Ronnie, Roger Pence, Gwendolyn Schiedel and Anona Widener.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Cox; his children, Ed Pence of Blandinsville and Nancy Vogler of Roseville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jennifer Skinner (Michael), Tiffany Vogler (Sarah Job), Tyler Vogler (Blake Red Elk), Applegate (Michael) of Montana, Carley Le Cuirot (Richard), Lacey Covert, Ryan Smith (Isabella) and Wyatt Pence; his great grandchildren, Sosie, Sloane Skinner, Cameron, O'Brien, Knox Job, Lucas Pence, Hayden, Tinley, Elliott, Rowynn, Jaxton Covert, Charlotte, Myles Le Cuirot, Ruby Smith, Ella and Emmy Applegate; and his siblings, Deb Worley (Ronnie) of Lomax, Larry Pence of Lomax, Sheldon Pence (Kathie) of Dallas City, Jimmy Pence (Edna) of Dallas City, Joe Pence (LouAnn) of Carthage, Wyverne Pence (Nancy) of Pleasant Plains and Randy Pence (Carol) of Niota.
