He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Shutwell and Margaret Shutwell (Maynard); his wife Eleanor Thompson; his children, Linda and Ken; and his siblings, Kermit Shutwell, Vernon Shutwell and Dorothy Baxter.
He is survived by: his son Ted Shutwell (Rosann) of LaHarpe; his grandchildren, Jared Shutwell (KaDee) of Carthage, Willo Quivey (Ryan) of Burnside and Anna Shutwell of Macomb; and his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Ella, Ava, Myah Shutwell, Shane and Sam Carpenter.
A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Fire Department, LaHarpe Ambulance, LaHarpe Union Church or LaHarpe American Legion.
