He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Hefler and Anna E. Hefler (Yurch); his wife Rita I. Wahl; and his brother Robert Hefler. He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Hefler (Susan) of Chillicothe, David Hefler (Cathy) and William Hefler Jr. (Patti) of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Stephen Hefler (Melissa), Sarah Reddington (Curt), Joseph Hefler (Erika), Timothy Hefler, Nicholas Hefler (Darlina), Melissa Gibbs (Skyler), Micayla Hefler, Cole Hefler and Trace Hefler; his great grandchildren, Alex, Cade, Paisley, Charlotte, Mia and Jack; and his siblings, James Hefler (Dolores) of Streator, Shirley McClellan of Streator, Doris Tanner of Streator and Joy Brewer of Streator.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, facial coverings are required, and social distancing standards will be followed.
