He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Chalkey and Beatrice Chalkey (Crawford); his siblings, Robert (Bob), John Richard (Dick), Terrance Chalkey (Terry) and Katherine Baumgardner; his nephew David Chalkey; and his great-nephew Mathew Chalkey.

He is survived by: his siblings, William "Mick" Chalkey of Streator, Margaret Yanek of Overland Park and Nancy Battershell (Richard) of Streator; and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Chalkey of Streator and Shirley Chalkey of Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the recent State guidelines set in place regarding the Covid-19 Coronavirus, the Funeral services will be private.
