He was predeceased by: his parents, John Murphy and Elizabeth Murphy (Davis); his siblings, John Murphy, Kenneth Murphy and Doris Murphy; his grandchildren, Alice Decker and B. J. Hendon; and his great grandchild Hailey Hendon.
He is survived by: his wife Millie Murphy of Streator; his children, Elizabeth Hancock (Craig) of Waverly, Ron Murphy (Julie) of Eden Prairie, Clarence "Dick" Parmer (Barb) of Des Moines, Ryan Murphy (Karen) of Kansas City and Lisa Novak of Streator; and his siblings, Florence Warner of Ohio, Delores McDonald of Ohio, Beaulah Janney of Streator, Sharon Stratton of Wenona, Wanda Seipp of Texas and Grace Arbise (Larry) of Streator. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
