It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary A. Arkels of Streator, Illinois, who passed away on December 23, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Whalen and Alice Whalen (Conness); her children-in-law, Sue Arkels and Frank Coop; her great grandchild Jasmine Simpson; and her siblings, Lois Freeman, Robert and Richard Whalen.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Arkels of Streator, Mary Ann Reh (Brian) of Laingsburg and Therese Simpson of Streator; her grandchildren, Rick Arkels (Amanda), Ryon Arkels, Adam Reh (Melissa), Katie Burley (Mark), Megan Reh, Ben Simpson (Staci Krominga) and Tony Simpson; and also, Rick Arkels, Ryon Arkels, Adam Reh, Tony Simpson and Mark Burley. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.
