She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Mertes and Mary Ellen Mertes (Weber); and her siblings, Allen Mertes, Ralph Mertes and Sally.
She is survived by: her husband Al Heider of Streator; her sons, Scott Heider (Ann) of Liberty, Todd Heider of Imperial and Corey Heider of Olathe, Kansas; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Heider of Liberty and Katherine "Katie" Heider of Liberty, Missouri; and her brother Richard Mertes of Lostant.
