He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Cox and Sherry Cox (Marshall). He is survived by: his wife Julie Cox (Sabatka); his children, Jay Cox of Lockport, Nicholas Cox (Rebecca) of Lombard, Matthew Cox of Shorewood, Christopher Cox (Nicole) of Mokena and Patricia Denham (Benjamin) of Streator; and his siblings, Dana Cox of American Fork, Utah and Debbie Zenger of Midway. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be donated to a homeless veterans charity.
