He was predeceased by: his parents, Menno Johnson and Louise Johnson (Mangold); and his siblings, Bernice Johnson, Menno Jr., Raymond, LeRoy and Ben Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Lynn Epsen; his children, Daniel Johnson of Streator, Cathy Doucette (Perry) of Sugar Grove, Julie Vogt (Jeff) of Inverness and Amy Parker (Don) of Chatham; his grandchildren, Erin, Ayden Doucette, Jenna, Jessica, Jeffrey Vogt, Zoe and Zachary Parker; and his siblings, Berniece Towne of West Lafayette, IN, Eloise Liable (Lynn) of Princeville, Marilyn Dieffenbach (Richard) of Princeville and John Johnson (Elaine) of Brimfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
