It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy M. Hirkala of Streator, Illinois, born in Leonore, Illinois, who passed away on October 18, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Salz and Helen Salz (Price); and her brothers, Lester and Jim Salz. She is survived by: her husband George T. Hirkala of Streator; her children, Diana Hirkala of Streator, David Hirkala (Jeanne) of Streator and Daniel Hirkala of Streator; her grandchildren, Thomas Hirkala of Ladd, Marcus Hirkala (Meaghan) of Ladd and Ann Hirkala of Streator; and her sisters, Eleanore Kwasneiski of Arkansas and Lois Rowe of Streator.
