He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Traeger and Alvina Traeger (Hombuecher); his wife Judith A. Potter; and his siblings, Ruth Anne Henne, Bea White, Alvina "Lil" Traeger, Ralph and Jim Traeger.
He is survived by: his children, Nicole Geary (Tim) of Streator and Donald Traeger Jr. (Melinda) of Florida; his grandchildren, Tristen Geary of Streator, Donald Traeger III (Jacqueline) of Florida and Elizabeth Traeger of California; his great grandchildren, Jaxon Traeger of Flordia and Peyton Traeger of Florida; and his pet Patches.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the any Pet Shelter or the Wounded Warrior Project.
