He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Keeley and Mary Keeley (Clancy); his wife Catherine "Dolly" Ranalletta; and his brothers, T. Paul Keeley and Bill Keeley.

He is survived by: his sons, Donald Keeley II of Washington and John Keeley (Johnell) of Naperville; his grandchildren, Donald III (Trey), Kaitlyn, Jacklyn, Jessica and Jay; and his brother Larry Keeley (Rita) of South Bend, Indiana..
