He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanche Slone (Miller) and Grant Yates Slone, Jr.; his brother Grant Leslie Slone; and his grandparents, Grant Y. Slone, Sr. (Lillian Armstrong) and Leslie R. Miller (Ruth Mill).
He is survived by: his siblings, Kathleen Hutchison (Richard), Richard Slone (Anita), Mary Colleen Slone and Ruth Ellen Slone As; his grandchildren, Dan, Dr. LeslieAnn Kao (Franklin), Rebecca Murphy (Keith), Katherine Weideman (Scott), Madeline Tompach, Oyouka Slone and Bowen Slone; and his stepchildren, Stephen Holcomb of North Carolina, Cindy Holcomb of Peoria and Sherry Hendricks (Larry) of Alabama. He is also survived by the oldest of six siblings.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, Streator, the Prairie Singers, or the family.
