He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Heider and Louise Heider (Arenz); his mother-in-law Joyce Mertes of John's Catholic Church; his wife Joyce; and his siblings, Richard, Roy, Russell, Eugene Heider, Doris Barr, Janette Strode and Maxine Brierly.
He is survived by: his grandson Nathaniel Heider; his sons, Scott Heider (Ann) of Liberty, Todd Heider of Imperial and Corey Heider of Olathe, Kansas; his granddaughter Katherine "Katie" Heider of Liberty, Missouri; and his sisters, Joan Henderson of Geneseo and Donna Smaling of Bloomington. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
