He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; his parents, George Hoppel and Alma Hoppel; and his sister Betty Lacey. He is survived by: his children, Kim Nielsen (John), Ronald (Shirley) and Kevin Hoppel; his grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Dan, Stephanie, Nicole and Amanda; and his brother Roger Hoppel. He is also survived by his family and friends.
