He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Susan, Thomas (Wendy) and Kathleen "Kittie" Kopitke; his grandson James Kopitke Jr. (Liz); his wife Katherine; his granddaughter Jennifer Kopitke (David Hurley); his great grandchildren, Andrew and Jonathan; his sister Bernice Nelson; his uncle Fred; and his sister Violet Parpart.
