He was predeceased by: his parents, John James and Bernice Estelle Granat (Jasulaitis); his siblings, Jerome, Richard Granat, Johanna, Barbara and Mary Granat; and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Lillian Wittenberg.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian of Strasburg, IL; his daughter Debra Granat of Plainfield, IL; his siblings, Joseph Granat (Dolores) of Oak Lawn, IL, Steven Granat (Sharon) of Frankfort, IL, Larry Granat (Esperanza) of Chicago, IL, Josephine Granat of LaGrange, IL and Patricia Venegas (Sam) of Maine; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Granat of Plainfield, IL and Mary Granat of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
