He is survived by: his wife Connie Lehr Mercer; his children, Jason Kessler (Tynia) of Strasburg and Lori Gaines (Doug) of Warden, IL; his stepchildren, William Mercer (Susan) of Shelbyville, IL and Stacey Jones (Danny) of Cowden, IL; his grandchildren, Keegan, Kaylee, Conner, Ted and Christian; and his stepgrandchildren, Brandie, Rachel, Bailey, Logan and Clayton.
Memorials may be given to the Strasburg Fire Department.
