He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Estle Wilson and Edna Mae Wilson-Ellis (Benson); and his siblings, Darrel Wilson, Gary Wilson, Ronald Wilson, Phyllis Andrews and Janet Ogden.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Joyce Wilson; his children, Phillip Hamell (Tammy) of Mt. Auburn, IL, Lori Ann Melzer of Stonington, IL and Becky Wilson-Lusk of Avon, IN; his sisters, Patricia Louise Campbell of Decatur, IL and Mary Kester (Joe) of Decatur, IL; and his grandchildren, Bridget Willard (Josh), Brandon Hamell (Brianne), Catherine Rhodes (Jacob), P. J. Talley (Cody), David, Madelyn and Molly Lusk. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
These travels laid the foundation for incredible bedtime stories for his grandchildren later on.
