He was predeceased by : his parents, John Mehl and Janet Mehl (Miller); and his wife Barbara Jeanne Turner. He is survived by : his children, Kathy Mehl-McNellis (Matt), Mary Wille, David (Judy), John (Ellen), Mark and Matthew (Megan); his grandchildren, Christopher Mehl, Meghan Vai (Anthony), Gregory Mehl (Autumn), Gelsey Weinstock Mehl, Colleen McNellis and Alexandra Thompson (Holden); his cousin Jeff Mehl (Cheryl); his nieces, Barbara Livingston (Rick) and Sheryl Spires (Ken); and his nephew Burke Mandable (Paula). He is also survived by his 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home (249 N Park St, Stockton, IL 61085). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Church of Stockton (315 W Maple Ave, Stockton, IL 61085).
